Jaycee Needs your Help

When Jaycee arrived at the Ontario SPCA Midland & District Animal Centre, the eight-year-old Miniature Schnauzer/Poodle was in obvious pain and discomfort. After observing her, we noticed she was urinating frequently and straining. Then, when we saw blood in her urine, we knew her situation was serious.

Jaycee was rushed to the veterinary clinic and underwent X-rays that revealed she was suffering from two large kidney stones in her little body. To make Jaycee comfortable, the veterinarian recommended a cystotomy to remove the stones. While undergoing surgery, the veterinary team also removed what (thankfully!) turned out to be a benign mammary tumour.

With surgery now behind her, Jaycee is recovering and will spend some time with us getting much-needed love and care while she heals. It will be a long road to recovery before she’s ready to find a loving home to call her own, which is why we need your support to help recover the costs of her surgery and care. Jaycee is extremely bonded to a male dog named Hudson, and we hope to adopt them out to the same home so he can continue comforting her as a constant companion.

Please make a special gift today to help Jaycee, and animals like her, receive the life-saving care they deserve.

Recoveries like this would not be possible without caring support from community members like you. Thank you for helping us to continue the life-saving work we do each day.
