Please Help Sammy

Injured, afraid and alone best describes our little kitty named “Sammy”!
Sammy was found by a concerned citizen who immediately brought him to the Ontario SPCA Orillia Branch. The poor little cat arrived at the shelter with an injured back leg that had been wrapped in some form of bandage that looked quite old and very dirty. It was apparent that he had been suffering for some time.
The staff knew upon the intake exam that this poor kitty needed to see a Veterinarian as soon as possible. Sammy was brought to an emergency vet clinic in Barrie to assess the severity of his wounds.
Dr. O'Sullivan, the vet who examined him, noticed that someone had placed an object resembling an elastic band on the injured leg some time ago in hopes that the circulation would stop and the leg would become dead tissue and fall off. This was not the case and this poor little soul was in severe pain and would need to have his back leg amputated.
Sammy’s surgery was successful and he is now recovering at the Ontario SPCA Orillia Branch where he is being showered with love and affection.
Unfortunately, Sammy’s surgery was expensive, and the cost of care will add up to more than $1800. We need your help! Please help us recover the cost of Sammy’s care by donating today!
