Gordie Needs your Help!

“Gordie” the black cat had some bad luck! He was scared and in pain, when he was fortunately found by a concerned family who brought him in for immediate veterinary care.

Upon examination, Gordie’s injuries were deemed so extensive that amputating his hind leg was the only option to alleviate the excruciating pain he was suffering.

Gordie is now on the road to recovery and receiving lots of TLC from the staff at the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre. He still has a ways to go and will require some follow up veterinary visits but we are confident that Gordie will live a happy and healthy life.

Buttercup Needs your Help too!

Buttercup, a 9 month old kitten was also in need of care after her owner surrendered her to the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre because Buttercup had a terrible limp and the owner could not afford veterinary care.

Upon examination, it was discovered that poor Buttercup had a rubber elastic caught around her leg which cut right through her Achilles tendon causing immense pain. She is now on the mend but will walk with a limp for the rest of her life.

Gordie and Buttercup’s cost of care and follow up visits have exceeded $1500.

We are asking assistance from the community to help cover some of the expenses incurred to help other animals just like Gordie and Buttercup get the second chance they deserve.
