Nacho is a sweet little seven-month-old domestic shorthair that came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre in pretty rough shape. He had been vomiting, was very lethargic and extremely dehydrated. Staff knew that Nacho was in need of immediate veterinary care and rushed him to the after hours emergency clinic.

Upon examination, x-rays showed that Nacho ingested what appeared to be a ribbon with a metal clasp. Poor Nacho was in serious discomfort and needed exploratory surgery. As it turns out, this little guy not only swallowed a ribbon, but tinfoil and the end of a phone charger.

Kittens can be very curious and the Ontario SPCA recommends pet proofing your home to avoid near fatal situations like that of Nacho’s. His surgery was a success but it’s not over yet, which is why we need your support to help recover the costs of his surgery and care while he recuperates.

The cost of Nacho’s treatment and care is expected to exceed $1800. Please make a special gift today to help Nacho, and animals like him, get the life-saving care they require.
Once recovered, Nacho will be available for adoption. Be sure to check out facebook.com/OrilliaSPCA for updates.

Without your support, new beginnings for animals like Nacho would not be possible
