Olaf Update March 25, 2015

Olaf is Dreaming of Summer!

Olaf and the Ontario SPCA would like to thank everyone who donated to help Olaf on his road to recovery. Olaf came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Investigations department after being abandoned by his owner at a local vet clinic, with a badly broken leg. After being evaluated by a veterinarian, the only chance for Olaf to grow and develop normally was to have immediate surgery to try and repair the damage. He required a steel rod and screws to be inserted into the bone.

After sharing his story, the community has graciously opened their hearts in order to help Olaf with his recover. We are happy to report that Olaf is doing well! He is a very happy and playful puppy, who is still working on his recovery. Olaf dreams of summer and longs to play outside, and run through the fresh grass.

We now know that Olaf will be healed and ready for adoption in the next few weeks. Olaf and the team at the Ontario SPCA are working on a video to update you on his progress.

Due to the cost of Olaf’s surgery and recovery, we are still asking for help to ensure that the remainder of Olaf’s rehabilitation goes smoothly. Your donations not only help Olaf, but they help with the Ontario SPCA’s Rescue & Relief efforts.

Please Watch for more updates on Olaf as we track his recovery!

Olaf Needs Your Help!

Olaf who came into the care of the Ontario SPCA Investigations department after being abandoned by his owner at a local vet clinic, with a badly broken leg. After being evaluated by a veterinarian, the only chance for Olaf to grow and develop normally was to have immediate surgery to try and repair the damage. He required a steel rod and screws to be inserted into the bone.

The vet tried to locate the supposed owners to no avail, so then they called our investigation team who took over his care.

Olaf is in tremendous pain and we are looking for your help to give Olaf that fighting chance at recovery and a new life. The cost of his surgery and care in the hospital has currently exceeded $5000.00 and will continue to increase with weeks of rehabilitation.

Olaf is looking at a long and slow recovery to repair the bone and muscle loss in his leg. He will be in the care of a foster home for another 4-6 weeks on to allow things to heal. The vets and the Ontario SPCA are hopeful that Olaf will recover from his severe injuries and will be available for adoption.

Please donate now to help cover our Rescue & Relief efforts. With your help, Olaf will have a full recovery and will be ready to be adopted into a forever loving home.
